Professor Emeritus from University of Arizona School of Natural Resources [and TRC contributor], Dr. Guy McPherson, gives a lecture at the Petone Community Library on Friday, 6 July 2012, in New Zealand. Dr. McPherson discusses transitioning, climate change and peak oil. He also talks about how communities can respond to these challenges and the inevitable changes we face in a post-carbon world.
After lecture Q & A:
UPDATE: I have arrived at Dr. McPherson's off grid property in New Mexico and hope you
will follow along here and at the Radical Detachment blog, where I just posted the first week pictoral. I am still raising funds to make a film, so your donation will get you a film credit in final production.
Thank you for helping me share this invaluable knowledge!~~~~~~~
Guy's sustainable farm in the desert of New Mexico is the first destination of my trip which begins next week via train. I will be sharing travel stories, encounters and photographs along the way. I will also be working, learning and making a documentary on the farm, about what Dr. McPherson calls, 'a set of more durable living arrangements'. Please support this project and follow along; back to the basics of 'walking lightly on the earth' and inquire how the spirit benefits from this radical detachment.
